No, thats just all the red ink my teacher had to use to cross out my wrong answers. But, I thought this headline was kinda funny, probably one of my best, if I do say so myself.
But, yes, I did not do...well on my Physics test. I do think I get some abnormal enjoyment out of going over the answers though. I LIKE being told everything I did wrong and how to do it correctly. Sure, it's embarrassing to have gotten so many problems incorrect, but maybe I take comfort in the fact that I know why.
Tomorrow I go to Aprica. Its a mountain a few hours, by train, away. I go there with AFS Intercultura and hang out for 4 days. Its sort of like our evaluation after a month here: how our Italian is coming along, are we getting along with our family, how is school, is there a problem that you won't tell your family that you should tell AFS. Things like that. But, I don't have anything to report. Sure, I wish learning a language to to point of fluency would be easier and take a matter of days. But, I can accept that human brains can't accomplish that. I'm just happy that I get to miss school, and hang out with a bunch of people that I like. I love the other AFS students. Everyone is so different but united in a common experience. We can all moan about Italian class and share embarrassing tales of miscommunication. We all know what it feels like to be a little lonely, to miss home, to want to buried in foccacia bread. My recent favorite person in the world is Geri. He is Hungarian (a Hungarian named Gary, how amazing can life get?) and pretty scene. His English cracks me up, even if the grammar and pronunciation is technically correct, something about him speaking busts me up at the seams.
Wish for snow in Aprica, though I will be lucky for a low temperature. Milanese cold is not Portland cold. They have no idea what 'ice rain' is. They think horrible weather is about 3-4 hours of rain. Hah. But it does make me long for frost and umbrellas and getting soaked just walking the block from the bus stop to my front door.
