This might just be the most personally embarrassing blog I've ever attempted to write. And, as much I would like to share these truely humiliating tales, it's a little personal.
Yes, of course this blog is personal, I'm sharing an entire experience and how it changes me. There is no way to be objective about my own experiences.
But I also believe that at some point, I can't share all. There should be a little privacy. That point made, I will do my best to share the basic outline of this newly acquired experience.
I went to a disco last night. And a disco here is not same as a disco was in America. 70's music and platforms and the ever so vivid dance moves. A disco is a club. This week is the 'Settimana di Scambio' for Milano. All the Intercultura students have a chance to see another part of Italy for a week, usually people staying in the south come to the north and vice versa. This is especially interesting to do in Italy which is so diverse between the two areas. For instance, I am going to Lecce.
Anyways, I met these people who are staying here, they all went back to their original cities today. I spent the evening with Brooke (Australia, Milan 6-month program), Sara (Ohio, Milan 6-month program), Marino (Brazil, Napoli year), Gogo (Turkey, no idea year), Emmett (California, Lecce year) and his host brother, Gianluca, in Milan.
Important Tidbit: It is legal to drink, smoke, go clubbing, drink publically, and be out late in Italy at the age of 16. And very common.
We started out the evening with pizza at a mandatory dinner.
Then moved on to an outside staircase.
There was alcohol.
We continued to a disco in Milan.
Apparently it's one of the best discos in Milan, I can't even believe we got in.
Dancing.
Good Music.
1 o'clock: We leave the club and go home.
