When 1 + 1 DOESN'T = 2

This could be metaphorical. Implying that things don't quite match up here is not far off the mark. My life is far from similar to the one a month ago, how could it be? But, if that was what I wanted, I wouldn't be in Italia in the first place. No, I am referring with 1 + 1 doesn't = 2 is my Informatica (computers) class.
So, by the way HDG, I wasn't wrong. Pascal is the right term, it is a type of computer program. A simple one, one of many that I will be learning about. Though learning about the person Pascal was still a good idea, one I followed up on. So, I like to talk about school on this blog. To some people, maybe friends desperate for juicy Italian fantasies, my blog for the time being will not be interesting to you.
But I LIKE school. And I think that the schools here are fascinating and I am so lucky to be enrolled in one. I hardly understand a thing, and yesterday, that was really bothering me. I hated that I would never have the right answer, that I was constantly embarrassing myself, it was hard for my teachers and many of them see having me as a chore and not a new experience to try. They don't want to learn about me or my culture, and just want me to sit there in the back of the class with my extra desk. To them I am the 17th student, I made the number uneven, their sense of order is off with me there.
Luckily, some of my teachers see me as a great resource. For instance, my English teacher. She wants me to make a presentation (in english) about me, my life, where I live, and the differences between the schools here and there. Then I will give this presentation to the 4th and 5th years whenever I feel ready. How cool is that! I'm excited to share some things about myself, and hope that they can get some idea of other countries too, that is part of AFS's goal.
